Week 9: Media Ethics/Media Law

As we all know, paparazzi follow celebrities 24/7 just waiting to snap a picture of the first imperfection to hit the newest star. We've heard stories of celebrities, like Kanye West in 2008, physically fighting paprazzi for the respect of their privacy. However, celebrities do not have to fight back anymore in California thanks to the new Anti-Paparazzi Law, signed off by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, that has been in affect officially as of January 1, 2011. The article "California Governor signs anti-paparazzi law" from inforrm.wordpress.com further explains the law. It's too bad Arnold couldn't have signed the Anti-Adulterer Law in time to save his marriage.

  1. Good example. Although celebrities have to expect some invasion of privacy, they should not have to put up with paparazzi endangering them and their kids.
